1. Agreement and who this applies to
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a legally binding agreement between you and SpotTail Infotech Private Limited (CIN: U58200TS2026PTC216995), a company incorporated under the Companies Act, 2013, with its registered office at Flat 406, Block-3, CBR Estates, Madinaguda, Miyapur, Tirumalagiri, Hyderabad – 500049, Telangana, India (“Spottail,” “we,” “us”). This document is an electronic record under the Information Technology Act, 2000, and does not require a physical signature.
By creating an account or using Spottail, you accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use Spottail.
Eligibility. You must be at least 18 years old and competent to contract under Indian law. You confirm that the information you provide is accurate and that you are creating an account for yourself, not for any other person or entity. Users whose accounts we have previously terminated for breach may not register again without our prior written permission — including under a new account, email, or device.
2. Your licence to use Spottail
We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable licence to use the Spottail app and website for your personal, non-commercial use, subject to these Terms. All rights not expressly granted are reserved by Spottail.
3. Your account
- You are responsible for the accuracy of your profile and your pet’s information, including any vaccination records you upload for verification.
- You are responsible for all activity under your account. Keep your credentials confidential.
- One account per person. You may create multiple pet profiles under your one account.
- All information on your profile — about you, your pet, and your photos — must be truthful and current. Misleading, fake, or impersonating profiles are prohibited and are grounds for immediate removal.
4. Verification — and its limits
To keep the community safer, we verify email addresses and phone numbers, and our team reviews vaccination documents that owners submit (a “Verified” badge means the submitted document was reviewed — it is not a veterinary certification or a health guarantee).
We do not conduct criminal background checks or identity screening of users. We do not and cannot verify the offline identity, character, or conduct of any user, or the health or temperament of any pet. It is your responsibility to exercise your own judgment about who — and whose pet — you interact with. We encourage you to report suspicious profiles, fake accounts, or inappropriate behaviour using the in-app report tools.
5. Meetups and offline safety
Spottail is a discovery and communication platform. Any meetup, playdate, or in-person interaction you arrange with another user happens at your own discretion and risk. By using Spottail you agree:
- To independently assess any user and pet before meeting, and to take sensible precautions — meet in public places, tell someone where you are going, and keep first meetings short.
- To supervise your pet at all times during any interaction, keep it under your control, and comply with local leash, licensing, and animal-welfare laws.
- That you are solely responsible for the health, safety, behaviour, and supervision of your own pet, including current vaccinations and preventing the spread of contagious conditions.
- That Spottail is not responsible for any injury, illness, disease transmission, property damage, disputes, or other incidents — involving people or pets — arising from interactions between users, whether arranged through the platform or otherwise. Any liability arising from user interactions rests solely with the users involved.
6. Community guidelines and prohibited conduct
Spottail exists to help pet parents meet nearby, safely. You agree not to:
- Harass, threaten, stalk, abuse, or mislead other users, or send spam.
- Upload false vaccination, health, or pet-safety information.
- Use Spottail for breeding, sale, or trade of animals, or any commercial solicitation — it is built for companionship, not transactions.
- Use Spottail to facilitate encounters between adults unrelated to pets, or post sexual or pornographic content.
- Engage in or promote animal cruelty or neglect in any form.
- Share another person’s personal information without their consent.
- Attempt to scrape, harvest, data-mine, reverse-engineer, or abuse the discovery, chat, or verification systems, or access the service by automated means.
Prohibited content (IT Rules 2021). In compliance with Rule 3(1)(b) of the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, you shall not host, display, upload, modify, publish, transmit, store, update, or share any information that:
- belongs to another person and to which you do not have any right;
- is obscene, pornographic, paedophilic, invasive of another’s privacy (including bodily privacy), insulting or harassing on the basis of gender, racially or ethnically objectionable, or otherwise inconsistent with or contrary to the laws in force;
- is harmful to children;
- infringes any patent, trademark, copyright, or other proprietary rights;
- deceives or misleads the addressee about the origin of the message, or knowingly and intentionally communicates any misinformation or information which is patently false and untrue or misleading in nature;
- impersonates another person;
- threatens the unity, integrity, defence, security, or sovereignty of India, friendly relations with foreign states, or public order, or causes incitement to the commission of any cognisable offence, or prevents investigation of any offence, or is insulting to any other nation;
- contains a software virus or any other computer code, file, or program designed to interrupt, destroy, or limit the functionality of any computer resource;
- violates any law for the time being in force.
Violations may result in content removal and account suspension or termination, and where appropriate, reporting to relevant authorities.
7. Reports, blocking, and moderation
You can block any user (mutual invisibility — neither of you will see or be able to contact the other) and report profiles or conversations for reasons including inappropriate content, fake profiles, harassment, animal-welfare concerns, and spam. Reports are reviewed by our team. We may remove content, restrict features, suspend, or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. We aim to act on complaints within the timelines in Section 17.
8. Content you share
Your content stays yours. You retain ownership of the photos and content you upload. You grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, display, and distribute your content within the Spottail service, to the users your settings allow, solely to operate and improve the service. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for content already shared with other users in chats and any copies we must retain for legal compliance.
No marketing use. We do not use your or your pet’s photos or content in our marketing, social media, or advertising. Your content is displayed only within the Spottail service.
Warranty. You confirm you have the right to upload any content you post, including photos of your pet, and that your content does not infringe anyone else’s rights.
Feedback. If you send us suggestions or feedback, we may use them without restriction or compensation.
9. Our intellectual property
The Spottail name, logo, tagline, app, website, design, software, text, graphics, and all content we create (collectively, “Spottail Content”) are owned by SpotTail Infotech Private Limited and protected under copyright, trademark, and other applicable laws. You may not copy, modify, reproduce, distribute, publicly display, create derivative works from, or commercially exploit Spottail Content without our prior written permission. You may not access the service to build a competing product, or for benchmarking, monitoring, or any competitive or comparative purpose. This section survives termination of these Terms.
10. Premium features and future payments
Spottail is currently free to use — we do not charge for any feature and do not collect any payment through the platform at this time.
We may introduce premium features and paid plans in the future. If and when we do: pricing, plan durations, free-access periods, and any promotional terms will be shown clearly in-app before you pay; payments will be processed through the Google Play in-app billing system (Android) or the Apple App Store in-app purchase system (iOS); and Spottail will never see or store your card, UPI, or banking credentials. Any paid features will apply only prospectively — nothing you have already received free will be taken away retroactively, and changes will not affect a period you have already paid for. These Terms will be updated with the specific payment and refund terms before any payment feature goes live, and you will be asked to review and accept the updated version.
11. Referrals
From time to time, we may offer referral rewards for inviting other pet parents. Specific terms for any referral programme (eligibility, reward, limits, expiry) are shown in-app when active. We may modify or withdraw referral programmes at any time, and may withhold rewards obtained through fraud, self-referral, or fake accounts.
12. Termination
By you. You may deactivate your account (a reversible pause) or delete it permanently at any time, in-app or via our account deletion page at spottail.in/delete-account. Deletion permanently erases your data as described in the Privacy Policy.
By us. We may suspend, restrict, or terminate your access, with notice where practical, in the event of:
- your breach of these Terms;
- a credible third-party report that your use of the service violates their rights;
- our inability to verify or authenticate information you provide;
- reasonable suspicion of illegal, fraudulent, or abusive activity;
- our reasonable belief that your actions may cause legal liability for you, other users, or Spottail, or are otherwise harmful to the platform or its community.
On termination, your licence under Section 2 ends and you lose access to your account data, messages, and content; export anything you need before deleting your account. Sections that by their nature should survive (including Sections 5, 8, 9, 13, 14, 15, 16, and 18) survive termination. Terminated users may not create new accounts (Section 1).
If Spottail is acquired, merged, or restructured, your data would transfer as part of that transaction subject to the protections in our Privacy Policy, and we would notify you.
13. Disclaimer of warranties
Spottail is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure; that defects will be corrected; that the service or servers are free of viruses or harmful components; or that any user, pet profile, or piece of content is accurate, authentic, or reliable. Discovery results are generated by neutral, distance- and relevance-based logic; we do not manipulate results to favour any user and are not responsible for the visibility of any profile. You use Spottail at your own judgment and risk.
14. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Spottail and its directors, officers, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages — including personal injury, injury to or loss of a pet, property damage, emotional distress, loss of data, or loss of profits — arising from or related to your use of (or inability to use) the service, the conduct or content of any user, or any interaction or meetup between users, even if we were advised of the possibility of such damages.
Our total aggregate liability to you for all claims arising out of or relating to these Terms or the service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or INR 1,000, whichever is higher.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
15. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Spottail and its directors, officers, employees, and agents from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from: (a) your use or misuse of the service; (b) content you upload or share; (c) your interactions, meetups, or disputes with other users, or any incident involving your pet; (d) your breach of these Terms; or (e) your violation of any law or third-party right. We will notify you of any such claim; you agree to cooperate with us in the defence, and not to settle any claim without our prior written consent.
16. Force majeure
We are not liable for delay or failure to perform caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, war, riots, epidemics, government action, labour disputes, internet or infrastructure outages, or failures of third-party services (including cloud hosting and app stores).

Complaints are acknowledged within 24 hours and resolved within 15 days. Complaints concerning specified categories of unlawful content under the 2021 Rules are acted upon within 72 hours.
18. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of India.
Mediation first. If any dispute arises from or relates to these Terms or the service, both parties will first attempt to resolve it in good faith through mediation under the Mediation Act, 2023, for up to 45 days from the date either party requests mediation.
Arbitration. If mediation does not resolve the dispute within that period, the dispute shall be referred to arbitration under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, seated in Hyderabad, Telangana, conducted in English by a sole arbitrator appointed by mutual agreement of the parties, failing which in accordance with the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996. The arbitrator’s award shall be final and binding.
Subject to the above, the courts at Hyderabad, Telangana have exclusive jurisdiction, including for interim relief and enforcement of any award. Nothing in this section affects any right you may have to approach a consumer forum under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
19. General
Severability. If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, it will be severed and the remainder will continue in effect, interpreted to give effect to the original intent to the greatest extent permitted.
Waiver. No failure or delay by us in enforcing any provision is a waiver of it. A waiver is effective only if in writing and signed by Spottail, and applies only to the specific instance.
Assignment. You may not assign these Terms. We may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to Section 12.
Entire agreement. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any in-app terms for specific features, are the entire agreement between you and Spottail regarding the service.
20. Changes to these Terms
We version these Terms. When they change materially, we update the effective date, notify you in-app, and ask you to review and re-accept before continuing to use Spottail. Your acceptance of each version is recorded. If you do not agree to updated Terms, stop using the service and delete your account.
